In my studio I am usually surrounded by graphic and plastic materials, whether I gather them myself or they are given to me, and I collect them. Intuitively, I create figures that reflect our fragmented nature and often appear to be in the midst of something.


I work through cutting, drawing, layering, painting and sewing. The action of separating and suturing allows me to search for body parts that fuel my interest in gesture and behavior. I explore body language as a way of healing and cuddling intimate places, but also as a way of recontextualizing gestures associated with certain memories, as if weaving old and new identities.


My practice is triggered by a state of tension where relationships, solitudes, domains, oppressions, passivities and provocations find their way in two or three-dimensional spaces, giving me a sense of belonging to my own memories.

No atelier estou geralmente rodeada de materiais plásticos e gráficos que recolho ou que me são dados e coleciono. Intuitivamente, crio figuras que refletem a nossa natureza fragmentada e que muitas vezes parecem estar a meio de alguma coisa.


Trabalho através do recorte, do desenho, da sobreposição, da pintura e da costura. A ação de separar e suturar permite-me a busca por partes do corpo que alimentam o meu interesse pelo que é gestual e comportamental. Exploro a linguagem do corpo como forma de cicatrizar e afagar lugares íntimos, mas também como forma de recontextualizar gestos associados a certas memórias, como se estivesse a suturar velhas e novas identidades.


A minha prática é acionada por um estado de tensão onde relações, solitudes, domínios, opressões, passividades e provocações encontram o seu caminho em espaços de duas ou três dimensões que me dão um sentido de pertença às minhas próprias memórias.
